Here are some of the most common questions we get from new customers. If yours isn’t covered, get in touch.
Smoke alarms detect the presence of smoke particles and are suitable for most rooms. Heat alarms detect a rapid rise in temperature and are recommended for kitchens where cooking fumes could cause nuisance triggering of a smoke alarm.
Hardwired interlinked alarms are more reliable than battery-powered units as they are connected to the mains supply with a battery backup. When one alarm is triggered, all alarms in the property sound simultaneously, giving maximum warning time.
For new builds and material alterations interlinked alarms are required under Building Regulations. For rental properties in England, landlords must ensure working smoke alarms are installed on every floor and a CO alarm in any room with a solid fuel appliance.
Yes. We install carbon monoxide detectors as standalone units or as part of a combined smoke and CO alarm system, ensuring full protection against both fire and CO risks.
On completion you'll receive the appropriate certification for the work carried out. Where a dedicated circuit is installed you'll receive an Electrical Installation Certificate. For smaller installations or additions to an existing circuit a Minor Works Certificate will be issued. All work is registered with NAPIT under Part P where notifiable.
